Meet Lucas Dear,MSW

Lucas Dear, MSW, works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety. He helps clients recognize how avoidance, reassurance seeking, and family accommodation can keep anxiety going. His approach is warm, collaborative, and practical, drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). Lucas enjoys working with parents and families to help children build confidence while giving caregivers tools to respond to anxiety differently.

Lucas completed his specialist year internship at Jewish Family & Career Services of Atlanta, where he worked with children and families navigating anxiety, OCD, and challenges at home and school. He also completed his generalist year internship at Brighter Start Health. These experiences shaped his approach to understanding each client in the context of their family, relationships, and daily life.

Lucas is from Atlanta and lives here with his wife and two daughters. Outside of work, he enjoys running, learning, and spending time with his family.
